One of my biggest pet peeves has got to be wasting time. Well, wasting anything, really, but mostly time. That is the topic of today's blog post. What has occurred recently to inspire such a "wasteful" topic, you ask? Just keep reading.
1. Wasting time in traffic. I get off work at 4:30 pm and when I happen to leave at exactly that time, I easily avoid double the traffic that I get stuck in when I leave at 5:00 pm instead. It usually takes me 30 minutes to travel home from work; any more than 30 minutes is a complete waste of time, in my opinion.
2. Wasting money on tipping. The solution to this is: eat out less often, or order takeout instead of eating out. Simple.
3. Wasting money on parking. There is almost always free parking if you look hard enough, even in downtown Vancouver. The dilemma is whether you have enough time to look for it.
4. Wasting money on expensive gas. The rollercoaster in gas prices is no surprise to anyone. I just try to time it so that I don't pay over $95 for gas every two weeks.
5. Wasting time with people who don't genuinely love you. This one is a toughie, and it happens to everyone. Most of the time, we don't even know ourselves when we don't truly love someone until it's too late. I'm not even just talking about dating; I don't know how many "friends" I've hung out with where at some point, I just stop and ask myself why the heck I continue to spend time pretending to appreciate them, or at the very least, some aspect of them. It takes way too much effort and nobody's got time for that. I guess the solution to this is, don't be afraid to say no more often. You deserve someone who celebrates your existence on this planet on at least a weekly basis.
Do you happen to have alternative solutions to any of these pesky situations? If so, holler.
Thanks for reading.
